RaceCrew Privacy Policy

Effective October 8, 2026. This policy covers the RaceCrew app and its supporting services operated by Smith Forge Studio LLC.

Information we collect

• Account email and authentication/session information used to sign in and recover access.
• Account and device identifiers, app installation public keys, platform integrity results and limited operational logs used to protect reporting and troubleshoot failures.
• Community reports: wait ranges, stop status, course mile, observation time, line-session timing and proposed stop names.
• Private notes and photos you deliberately attach for operator review, including any people or other content visible in a photo.
• Support messages you send us, including your email and message contents.

Location and photos

Location access is optional. When you use report location, the app uses your foreground device location to determine a position along the course. Reports submit a course position and accuracy category, rather than a continuous GPS trail. You can enter a mile manually. We do not request background location for this release.

Photo access is optional and limited to a photo you choose. The app resizes evidence photos; the server re-encodes supported photos to remove embedded metadata before storage. Avoid including faces, medical information or other sensitive details unless needed for the report.

How information is used and shared

We use information to provide accounts and race access, display community estimates, review reports, prevent abuse and respond to support. Approved public course labels and aggregate updates may be visible to other users. Private evidence is restricted to authorized race operators. Your email, account identifier, notes and evidence photos are not included in public course snapshots.

Supabase provides account and database services. Cloudflare provides API hosting, race databases, website hosting and private photo storage. Apple or Google may process app integrity checks on their platforms. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Retention and deletion

Ordinary private notes and evidence photos expire after 30 days. Evidence flagged for moderation may be retained for up to 90 days. Automated cleanup may run after the expiration time. Account information remains while the account exists. Operational information is kept only as needed to run and secure the service.

Use Delete account in the app or request deletion outside the app. An accepted in-app request stops account access immediately; cleanup removes authentication, device links, access records and ordinary private evidence. Anonymous structured community reports and aggregate race history may remain. Limited security/moderation tombstones and legally required transaction records may remain without an ordinary link to your deleted sign-in identity.

Choices, children and changes

You can decline location/photo permissions and withdraw them in device settings. RaceCrew is not directed to children under 13; do not create an account if you are under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information. We will update this page when our practices change.
